Walking to class with my 1st graders today two of them asked:
First Student: Ms. S--is your boyfriend Michael Jackson?
Second Student: Yeah, is he??

Whether it was my misconceptions of kids, teaching, me, or all three, I'm not sure, but a Teacher was the last thing I thought I'd be. I knew I wanted to be more involved in my community, but was unable to find a job. Desperate, I decided to work as a Substitute, but then my eyes saw: BILINGUAL SPECIALIST; Love kids and their culture, help with English. Not only has teaching been a blast as I have been able to share life with 40 K-8th graders, but I am a better person because of THEM!
